3 Simple Steps To Get The Perfect Prefab Door:
1. Determine your manufacturer & model number.
Prefab fireplaces usually have a metal plate on the front or just inside the firebox. This plate lists the brand and model number of your fireplace.
Many fireplaces also have the manufacturer’s logo on the front plate of the firebox.
2. Measure the fireplace opening.
Once you’ve identified the manufacturer and model number, take photos of the height, width, and recess depth of your fireplace.
See below for more details on how to take proper measurement photos.
3. Confirm size and place your order.
Once you’ve taken your measurement photos, send them to [email protected]. One of our fireplace specialists will personally confirm your order to ensure your prefab fireplace door fits perfectly upon arrival.
How To Take Measurement Photos
(If you know your fireplace model number, just send us pictures #1–3)
Firebox Opening
Get level with the fireplace and take the photo straight on. *We want to see at least 2 inches of what surrounds your opening.
Firebox Width
With a tape measure fully visible from start to end, take the width measurement inside the opening — metal lip to metal lip.
Firebox Height
With a tape measure fully visible from start to end, take the height measurement inside the opening — metal lip to metal lip. *If you know your fireplace model number, you can skip pictures #4–6.
Recess Depth (Top)
Look up into your top track area (where your doors would roll back & forth) and show how wide that track is with your tape measure.
Recess Depth (Bottom)
If you have a bottom track, measure the track. If not, measure the small flat area right at the front.
Recess Depth (Sides)
Place your tape measure lip on the outside of the fireplace and measure inward, stopping at the first obstruction.
