Purchased the Twilight taupe kit on sale to rejuvenate an old dated brick fire back for my soon to be installed wood stove. Just WOW!!! This product is self contained and complete and so easy to use. I was able to achieve the exact results I was hoping for and it was a breeze. The customer service was second to none as well. The only thing I would change is maybe a thorough instructional video to accompany this fantastic system. I only wish they sold other products so I could do more business with them. Old fashioned service and quality at an incredible price. The photos don’t do it justice. Looks like natural brick.

Wow, what a transformation! I was a little hesitant and worried, (specifically after the base coat and the first color) but after 10-11 hours of painting, I'm in love! I've been debating buying this kit for about a year and so glad I finally did it. The paint covers well and buying the kit takes all the guesswork out of trying to find the right colors yourself. The room looks so much brighter and cleaner. If you are on the fence, this is a great kit and is so much less expensive than resurfacing the brick. I wanted to note that it did turn out lighter than I was originally expecting, but the tones match the living room perfectly!

I was so anxious about painting my fireplace brick -- I didn't want it look like I just slapped some paint on the old brick; I wanted the look of brick, just updated. I received my order and watched the instructional video a couple times. My biggest worry was that I am not an artist by any means and I didn't know if I would be able to get the same result as the video. Truly, I am so amazed with the simplicity of the process and the final results! The base color and the paired undertone paints were perfect together, and the kit comes with everything you need. I am a big fan and would definitely recommend this kit.

I was a bit apprehensive about the idea of painting my fireplace as I wanted it to still look like brick but just not terracotta colored brick. But the Brick-Anew process was really quick and easy! I absolutely LOVED using your product - it was so easy to follow the step-by-step instructions and the result was amazing! The texture of our stone was so inconsistent, I found using a sponge to apply all the colors after the base coat gave me the new updated look I was looking for. I highly recommend this product!

The hardest part was the time needed for the base coat, brushing by hand in a very textured surface. Overall it took a few days. All steps after the base coat were done in one day. With the side of the wall, by the time I finished one step it was dry where I started so I could easily move to the next. It is absolutely a “ trust the process” project. I am in love with the way it turned out. Every day I love it more. I have been staring at a plain white brick wall for 7 years. I wish I had done it years ago. Every time I reached out to the company, either to determine got much paint I’d need for the square footage, missing instructions or a need to return additional product I purchased and didn’t need, I received a very quick and helpful response. I would definitely work with them again.

The brick anew system is so easy. We just put on the primer. Waiting for it to dry to start the fun colors. Just a few of suggestions: Allow an option to purchase more than one tool kit so that additional people can help w/o going to the hardware store, add a few sticks to the kit to stir paint, add a smaller brush to make it easier to get in-between the bricks for painting the mortar.

Everything We needed to bring our 1973 dated stone fireplace into the present day. The paint went on easy and the color palette gave us a natural look, just updated and clean looking. We added a stone tile to hearth and a Maple mantle to complete the transformation

My fireplaces look awesome using this painting method. It was easy to do and you really can’t make any mistakes. There is depth to the brick which wouldn’t be possible by simply painting them. The colors are well coordinated and gave me the look I wanted.

I am in the process of a whole house renovation. At first we were going to tile over the brick on the fireplace and then I remembered seeing an HGTV show using Brick-Anew. We got the Twilight Taupe kit and OMG I am a convert. I love this soooo much and friends who have seen it are considering doing this to their brick. I am much happier that I did this than tile over. LOVE IT! I would add a picture only there is no access to upload it that I see. My brick is floor to ceiling so this really stands out!

Easy to use and the outcome looks amazing

Our house is 67 years old and has a flagstone fireplace that looks as old as it is. We've wanted to update it for years but didn't want to just paint or white/lime wash it. Then we found Brick-Anew. It's wonderful. Easy to follow instructions and quality paints. Working on it one layer at a time allowed us to add subtle to dramatic high and low lights and it was easy to go back and correct or adjust when there was something we didn't like. We couldn't be happier with the results.

We are finished with our fireplace and living room upgrades, and I wanted to share my before, during, and after pics. I also want to share feedback from my experience. Great: Response time when I had a question on the weekend. Thank you especially to Paul and Tanya for getting back to me so quickly with an answer about the glaze labeling. The paint seemed to be high quality and all needed supplies were included in the kit. The color scheme of Frosted Sunshine was well described on the site and the pictures were all very helpful! It was the right color for our room and decor. The mix of colors are excellent! Paint quantities were appropriate for estimates on site. I have enough of each for touchups if needed. The videos were extremely valuable. I watched the original one over and over throughout the process and some of the DIY ones you linked were great too. Could improve: Paintbrush provided would be better if it was tapered and or angled. I switched to my own almost immediately because it wouldn't fit between the bricks very well. Wider blue tape-I am super messy! Glaze just labeled 'glaze' so there is no confusion if you have the right one. Thank you for saving us $$, now there is no need for me to get a fireplace refacing!!

My husband was against putting any paint on our fireplace. I told him that our fireplace was dark and outdated and to trust me it would turn out good. If worst came to worst we would get someone to refinish the fireplace. I took my time and watched the Dvd several times to make sure I knew what I was doing. The video kept saying random strokes. My fireplace turned out wonderful! My husband loves it and so does everyone else that sees it. It definitely makes the room brighter and more updated. Very easy to use. So glad I took the chance.

Just as described! The kit transformed my 1969 red brick fireplace into the 21st century. From start to finish, the entire process took about 11 hours to complete, including repainting my wooden mantel with other paint I had on hand.

This was fun and easy to do. It came out amazing! It completely transformed my whole living room. Everyone who sees it or sees pictures of it are blown away by the transformation. If anyone is looking to do something different to their fireplace this is what you want to use. Im ordering more so I can do the brick on the outside of the house. Its going to look awesome.

Well worth the money! The results are worth the price & effort! I have minimal brick so will be sharing my leftovers with a friend. A half kit would have been enough for me. I do wish there was an option of darker greys as I would of preferred this, but am still happy with the transformation! I ended up painting the slate hearth with a porch & patio paint because I wanted a contrasting color & was not sure of the sealer after reading the reviews.

I couldn't be more pleased with how the fireplace turned out. I have been looking for years trying to find an inexpensive way to cover the dark brown fireplace that wouldn't look cheap. I finally found the brick anew website and decided this was it. I am so glad I went with this product. It took one day to transform the brick from dull and drab to beautiful and bright. I used the Twilight Taupe. My tips are watch the instructional videos, make sure you do this during daylight hours, step back every now and then to see how your color placement is looking, and go light on the last color as it is a very light highlighting color. You can always add more once you see how it looks.

We are very impressed with the results. I've done other faux finish processes on walls and I know all the spots where I think I messed up. Not the case with this product! It looks so realistic I can hardly believe it. Even when I stand up close and look carefully it looks realistic. I was not sure this would be true because a lot of times things look nice in a photo but up close and in person you see the blemishes. This looks great up close!

Can't say enough good things about this kit. I was scared that I would ruin my red brick fireplace permanently but this kit revived it and I love it! I was real iffy on painting my fireplace but really did not like it’s natural color. This product did awesome on my fireplace and gave it a much needed refreshing look. It was very easy to use. Did it all in one day! Loved it!

I am very happy with how brick anew transformed our fireplace. I stumbled across a YouTube video about brick anew a few months back as I was researching to change the red brick surrounding our stove insert/fireplace. I had never heard of brick anew before but I’m so glad I came across it. I was going to spend upwards $4k to change a very small piece of brick surrounding our fireplace but then when I saw brick a new I wanted to give it a chance since it was so cheap compared to other options (I was considering marble or granite surround or even stone) . All these options would have been great and a lot cheaper had I not had the stove insert. The stove insert complicated things for us because we had to remove the insert in order to Change the surrounding brick, and we were quoted $3k just to remove and put back the stove insert (I know... ridiculous right). The idea of painting over the brick was the easiest and best solution for us, because that meant we didn’t have to touch the stove insert. Although just painting it I had thought about in the past but didn’t like the idea of it as it would have made the look very plain and not natural .... Brick anew makes it look like real stone. The package came within a week of ordering it and it was very well packaged. It includes all materials you will need and the instructional video. The process itself is very easy - I was done with our fireplace within a matter of hours (our area of brick was very small though) and am so happy with the results. It was like a work of art. I went with Misty harbor to complement my surrounding walls and furniture.

We had a dark gray stone fireplace that my wife wanted to change to a much lighter color. This would have cost a few thousand dollars to take off and replace with lighter colored stones but luckily I found Brick -Anew! What a great product! Once ordered the kit came very quickly and all the instructions were clear and easy to follow. Viewing the video was also a great help. The whole transformation only took one day and the results were amazing. We still look at the "new" fireplace and are amazed the stones look so real with all the subtle color variations of natural stone. The system is ingenious and I applaud whoever figured this out. Let me start off by saying incredible results. The transformation is amazing. Make sure you watch the video AND read the faq paperwork. I definitely recommend using the sponge for color #3. I did this project with a friend and we were terrified the whole time. It helps to back up, look at it and take a photo. The fireplace kept looking better and better with each color addition. I am absolutely in love with the results from using the Brick Anew kit. Our fireplace definitely needed an upgrade but I had no clue what to do. I came across a post on a Facebook group that I am a member of and I was blown away by the results so I decided to give it a try. This was defiantly a two day project vs the couple of hours that I had originally anticipated but it was totally worth it. If you are on the fence about giving it a try take this as your sign to GO FOR IT. The transformation was incredible. I was very nervous but it really exceeded my expectations. It did suck up the base coat. I ordered two extra and I needed both. I do have a little left over for touch ups. My brick was not flat but very porous and the grout lines very deep. I really am amazed. I did take photo's of each step and the finished fireplace. I cannot tell you how happy I am with my wood burning stove. The brick really looks brand new! I was redoing my TV room and I was not sure what I could do with that brick. It looked terrible. I thought of white washing it but then I found brick anew online. I am so glad I did! It looks beautiful! Everyone who comes into my house asks me when I put in new brick. I am totally in love with this product and my new/old fireplace. Was very easy to do by myself. Mine looks a little different because of my used brick but its perfect for me. If your on the fence go for it, you will not be disappointed. I used the Misty Harbor.

I am a first time homebuyer who purchased a very old 1950s style house. Although I was elated to have my very own fireplace, it was painted charcoal gray (over already existing turquoise paint that I could see chipping off the corners). I wanted to re-brick the entire thing but it wasn’t in the budget as we have other renovations to tend to first. After looking at DIY fireplaces on Pinterest, I stumbled upon Brick Anew and decided this was the perfect solution. I love natural brick and knew I didn’t want a “painted” look. I sanded my fireplace for 2 days before I applied the base coat. I only needed one coat, even over red brick, turquoise paint and charcoal gray paint! The paint colors compliment each other and are easy to apply. My bricks were a little thinner than the brush I got so some of the paint would get into the mortar part, but I just dipped my finger in the base coat once everything was dry and went over the smudges. The instructional video is really helpful and teaches you to get creative! I took pictures after each paint color to see the transformation. It’s exactly as advertised! I have so much paint left over for touch ups and plan to paint my friend’s fireplace. Love this product!

Great product! So easy to use and didn’t take long at all. The product covers beautifully no need for second coat! There really is no way to mess this up as they have several steps and options for going lighter or darker per your preference using the sponge work. Customer service was wonderful and pleasant. Brick Anew is an excellent product. It was easy to use and completely transformed my fireplace into something I wouldn't have imagined. I highly recommend this product. I would recommend looking at their website and Facebook to see other customers transformations. I used the sites to get ideas on how to keep going with the way I wanted my fireplace to look. Also, go step by step on the instructions even when skeptical because the end result will be amazing. I also recommend don't be afraid to make it your own. As you go step by step add your own personal touch to it with the colors using the roller or sponge to exactly how you want it to be. You'll get the hang of it really fast but have fun with it!

We have a 50 yr old moss rock fireplace which means sandstone. It was beautiful but after 25 yrs we wanted something different. We thought we would try this before spending the money to enclose it, and are we glad we did! It took me 5 hours using a wire brush attachment on the end of a drill to remove all of the old dead lichens and loose grit. At Sam's suggestion I coated it with KILZ 3 premium primer so the rock wouldn't suck up the paint and to get an idea of how much paint to order (it turned out the basic kit comes with plenty). My wife texted Wendy for advice who said to not use the roller with rock, to just dab it. It took 3 days total and the results are simply amazing. While it did take some elbow grease on my part because of it being sandstone instead of brick the process is simple and straightforward and the end result well worth it. We are very pleased. 🙂

The review would only let me give 4 stars but this is a 5 star product. We have a 53 yr old moss rock fireplace which means sandstone. It was beautiful but after living here 25 yrs we wanted a different look. It took me 5 hours with a wire brush attachment on the end of my drill to get rid of all the dead moss and loose rock. At Sam's suggestion I put a coat of KILZ 3 premium primer on first to seal the rock so it wouldn't suck up the paint, and to get an idea of how much paint would be needed (it turned out the paint that came in the kit was plenty). My wife texted Wendy at Brick Anew for advice and was told that on rock to skip using the roller and just go to dabbing. It took 2 days and the difference is amazing! We are very pleased with the kit, the support and the finished product. My wife got a small tv and put it in front of the opening so we have the snapping, popping and feel of a fire. We are very pleased.👍

This is a great product! I will admit I was so nervous to do this because I am not a DIY'er. Once I started it though, there was no turning back. It was so easy though! I even managed to get two paints out of order (I was side-tracked when I was doing this project. Everything is very clearly marked, and I still messed it up.) I had enough paint to even do my second fireplace. I did this one in order. I had to go back and spend a bit of time on this one making it look just right. Even though it's the same color and overall technique, they look different. I would highly recommend this product. The transformations of the fireplaces are beautiful!

It doesn't get better than this! In one day and for a reasonable cost, we were able to totally transform the look of our entire living room. The dark-colored stones in our fireplace made the room look small and closed in. Twilight Taupe was the answer. Not only was it easy, but my husband and I had so much fun doing it. I wish all DIY projects were like this!

Excellent result. My fireplace is 35 years old, so it had a lot of wear, and the original install was done very poorly, so there were many mortar spills on the bricks that were not cleaned up. Fortunately with the kit I was able to completely recolor and redesign the entire thing and it looks like a brand new fireplace now. All the mortar that was on top of bricks just add to the texture of the bricks now and paints all turned out to look very authentic. Was a bit worried it would look painted, definitely does not, it looks like actual brickwork. The 3rd paint color when dry even has a slightly chalky look to it, which just gives back to the authentic look. Also ordered the matte finish which has already made cleaning it much easier, and the black firebox paint which just completes the look. Very satisfied with the product. Cool note is all the paints aside from the firebox paint have very little paint odor, so it makes it easy to paint indoors. Note though that if you get the firebox paint ensure you have good ventilation handy. Have had plenty of compliments on the new look and shock in the before and after.

My fireplace has a white mantel and framing, with 6-8" of brick in-between and a brick hearth. I was considering covering it with marble, but was concerned about the additional height protruding from the millwork. I watched a lot of videos about painting brick and stumbled on info for Brick-Anew. I was very hesitant, concerned that once I put that first brush stroke on, I was committed. At first I thought the price of Brick-Anew was a little high in comparison to getting the supplies myself, but then I didn't really know what type of paint to get or how to shade it. I'm so glad I went with Brick-Anew. The process was easy to follow, and generally easy to do. Everything was included, and the colors for shading and accenting were perfect ( I chose Misty Harbor). The finished result it amazing. I just added a new fireplace door and the whole room is transformed.

We had a large dark brick fireplace in our small room. I wanted to paint it right away but my husband didn't. We moved to this home two years ago. Just renovated my kitchen and now found myself chasing the ugly spot to the next room, the living room. I have a large fireplace with a full wall of outdated brick. I'm sure you could accomplish this same look if you were artistic and creative and knew what colors to choose and what technique to use, but if your not it was so simple and took out all the guess work. I moved into a 50 year old home. It has so many amazing qualities but the fireplace wasn't one of them, not in its current state. I used your product (misty habor) and it turned out amazing. About 7 hours worth of work total (that includes drying time between coats) and the comments I have gotten from friends and relatives are all awesome. One of the best DIY projects I have ever done.

I am very impressed with this product. The instructional website was spot on and very helpful. i was doing a full brick wall with an 18 inch hearth. I did the project in 2 stages. I applied the base coat on one day. This took me half the day and my arm was tired. I waited a week and started the last 4 steps at 8 AM and finished up at 3 PM. I had fun with it after I stopped being scared of doing something wrong. The final step is the step that really made the project pop and look like real brick! I have been wanting to update my fireplace for the past couple of years but was a little nervous about a paint job, I did not want it to look like painted brick that all ran together and had a shiny look to it . I started researching many different how to paint brick videos and came across one that talked about this kit called Brick-Anew, I read every one of the reviews and watched the video and really liked the before and after pictures. I liked it that they have only 3 choices to pick from on the kits and finally decided to purchase the kit. I bought the kit and the sealant for I wanted to seal the brick so it would last longer. I am a 53yr old female and I am here to tell you this product was easy to use and the results to me were impressive. I started the product at 9am and other than the sealant I had completely finished the product the same day at 6 pm, now keep in mind my fireplace is huge it almost completely covers one wall and I did take some small breaks to allow each step to completely dry in between the coats. I have had some many compliments and I am very proud of my accomplishment . it was very easy to apply and I watched the video online before I started but to be honest I think it is so easy it would really hard to mess it up. I have told everyone I know about this kit and just want to say do not be afraid that you can not do it because it is truly very easy. I used the Twilight Taupe and due to We have an Insert in our fireplace I wanted to match my Mantle with the Black Insert so I stained my Mantle an Ebony and I absolutely Love it !!! My family and friends and co-workers say it just gave the brick a very clean and nice look and a couple of them are looking in to maybe re-doing their fireplace brick.
